Day 1: Manali → Jobra → Trek to Chika

Your journey begins with a scenic drive from Manali to Jobra, the starting point of the trek. The drive passes through winding mountain roads, dense forests, and views of the Kullu Valley. From Jobra, a short trek takes you through pine and maple forests alongside the beautiful Rani Nallah stream. After a steady trek, you reach Balu Ka Ghera, a peaceful campsite surrounded by big mountains and glacier views. It’s a perfect place to rest and prepare for the exciting pass crossing the next day.

Manali is the starting point for the Hampta Pass Trek and is well connected by road and air from major cities in North India.

Manali is easily accessible by road from Delhi and Chandigarh. Overnight Volvo buses and regular state transport buses operate daily.

  • Delhi to Manali: ~540 km (12–14 hours)

  • Chandigarh to Manali: ~300 km (8–9 hours)

Private taxis and self-drive options are also available.

The nearest airport is Bhuntar Airport (Kullu–Manali Airport), located about 50 km from Manali.

From Bhuntar, taxis and local buses are available to reach Manali, which takes about 1.5 to 2 hours.

🚉 By Train

The nearest major railway stations are:

  • Chandigarh Railway Station – 310 km from Manali

  • Joginder Nagar Railway Station – 160 km from Manali

From these stations, travelers can continue to Manali by bus or taxi.
